antioxidant, anti aging I was watching Oprah yesterday, and she had Dr. Oz on again, and he was demonstrating the process that antioxidants have on the aging process. I was really shocked to learn about all the benefits that an antioxidant has on the anti aging efforts that seem to be on everyone's minds. Food is a really terrific way to get the antioxidant properties in them working to slow the aging process. One thing that Dr. Oz demonstrated was the beneficial properties of tomatoes, particularly tomato paste. In an experiment, he measured the ability of the skin to ward off the oxidant damage from sunlight on someone's skin before beginning a program where she ate a quarter cup of tomato paste a day, and after two or three weeks of eating that every day, her skin's ability to ward off the damaging sun rays increased dramatically. Eating that much tomato paste a day may be a challenge, but you can get nutritional supplements that have the active ingredient, lycopene, in them to help ward off skin aging as a result of sun exposure.
