If you have ever left a banana outside too long and noticed that it has turned brown, then you know how nasty it was the first time you opened it out of curiosity unknowing it was still good to eat or not.

Well, whether you like it or not - you and the banana have a lot in common. Eventually, you will turn brown and nasty on the inside and decompose - that is the cycle of life. But! Unlike the banana, you can slow that process down and cheat with the antioxidant.

You see, the banana has a very limited lifespan because it has no metabolism - it doesn't eat and replenish itself to counteract all of the damage. You, however, do. And this is where the antioxidant comes in. The process of getting old is really the process of oxidation - the exact same thing that happened to our poor banana. Oxygen (and a million other things), over time, produce damage to the cells and without the antioxidant - the "anti-" aging element - in your diet, you will be defenseless.

There are many foods out there with high antioxidant power - and guess what? They are all fruits and veggies just like our banana. So, eat 5 a day for good health, 7 a day for great health and 10 or more a day for excellent health!
